After establishing himself as a popular mainstay in the contemporary urban jazz genre with infectious R&B driven hits like “Cool Shades” (from Velvet), “Hip Sway” (title track from his 2000 album), “Ain’t Mad Atcha” (2003’s Groovalicious) and “I Can’t Help Myself” (from 2006’s Soul Express), Chris Standring decided it was time to push his muse into offbeat and uncharted territory. His appreciative fans, radio programmers and critics fully embraced Blue Bolero (whose single “Bossa Blue” was the #1 Billboard Contemporary Jazz Track of the Year) and Send Me Some Snow, an inviting holiday collaboration of self-penned songs with award winning pop/folk singer/songwriter Kathrin Shorr. Standring continued radio chart success with his 2012 Electric Wonderland album, scoring a #1 hit with “Oliver's Twist”, then “Sneakin' Out The Front Door” also reached #1 from his 2014 album Don't Talk, Dance. 2016 brought Chris Standring's tenth solo album (titled Ten) spawning two billboard #2 hits “Ready Steady, Flow” and “Soul Vibration”. On March 5th 2017 Standring recorded a live album with rhythm section and orchestra at Cadogan Hall in Chelsea, London with special guest star Mica Paris. The album, Live In London (also videotaped), will be released September this year.
