Beer and Cheese Pairing w/Formaggio Kitchen
About event
Join Bone Up Brewing and Formaggio Kitchen for an afternoon beer and cheese pairing!
Extra Naked, Cream Ale
Crisp, light, kind of a cross between a pilsner and a saison. Has a light Belgian spiciness to it due to our house yeast blend.
Bucheron (goat)- bloomy rind soft-ripened chevre, classic sweet buttery tang but nice and dense which will cut through all that citrus perfectly.
Key Lime, White Ale
Nice citrus and graham crackery notes throughout, slightly tangy.
Las Mil Ovejas (sheep): Similar to a young manchego cheese, this "1,000 sheep" is rubbed with olive oil as it ages, bringing even more richest that will love all that tang!
Wasted Life, IPA
Lots of fruity hop flavor and aroma, not super bitter; really nicely balanced with a solid malt backbone. I get a peach, caramel, and orange candy from this beer.
Old Groendal (cow)- Belgium gouda-style cheese, directly imported by Formaggio Kitchen. 2 yrs aged making it super crystallized and nutty.
Shut Up Kelly!, Robust Porter
Rich, roasty, has a drier finish than most porters.
Bayley Hazen Blue (cow) - VT blue cheese made in a Stilton style. Chocolate-y notes pairing unexpectedly great with porters!
Bone Up Brewing is the Boston area's smallest brewery! Husband-and-wife brewing duo Jared and Liz Kiraly crank out fresh new beer every week from their 3-barrel nano brewery and taproom. Inspired by old-school Belgian farmhouse brewing while celebrating American styles, their ales combine the heart and soul from each of these beloved beer cultures. Four year round beers are always available, but the gears of Bone Up are always turning, so you can expect an ever-changing array of one offs, seasonal releases, and experimental batches.
