Introduction to Priestessing

Saturday, Aug 17, 12pm

About event

Priestessing involves meeting the spiritual needs of a community. Often this includes the creation of sacred space, the offering of rituals and rites of passage, the management of physiological and elemental energies, the use of divination techniques and a fair amount of psychological savvy. Many of today's teachers, therapists and spiritual consultants are doing the work of priestessing; yet they lack access to support and training because the knowledge required to conduct these rituals correctly is typically only obtained after years of dedicated study with a particular esoteric group. Betz King founded The American Priestess Training Program to offer secular priestess training because she believes all women are priestesses who deserve access to quality training and support. Given the current state of religious hostility being directed toward women, it is vitally important for women to cultivate a spiritually empowered truth to stand in and work from.

This workshop offers participants a introductory overview of what it means to be a modern day priestess. After a brief historical overview, participants will engage in the creation and execution of a small ritual which will allow opportunities to engage with teachings regarding the creation of sacred space, the use of ritual tools and the importance of intentionality.
