About event

From May 29th through June 29th BoxHeart Gallery presents Juliet Pusateri: Premonition on exhibit in our 2nd floor gallery. Juliet Pusateri : Premonition references portrait painting of the past and hypothetically of the future. Without facial expression or facial recognition, obvious means of identification are unavailable. There is a sense of unease in asking what fear, surprise, grief, or game is at play, and who are the players.

Juliet Pusateri was born in 1985 in Ellicott City Maryland. She received her undergraduate degree in art and creative writing from Carnegie Mellon University, where she is currently a candidate in the Master of Educational Technology and Applied Learning Science program. Pusateri has worked as assistant curator of education in experiential learning for children & families at Carnegie Museum of Art, and is currently a studio educator at Cyert Center for Early Education at Carnegie Mellon University. Her artwork reflects her interest in stories, and has been included in the Pittsburgh Biennial and SOFA Chicago. She is co-author of Art Cat’s Sketchbook, a Carnegie Museum of Art publication, as well as Art Chat, a community engagement project with Ashley Andrykovitch.
