Evening at the Embassy of Peru

The thrill of Machu Picchu, the mysteries of the Inca Civilization, and the majesty of Lima come alive as we present, for the first time, a very special cultural evening at the Embassy of Peru!

Step onto foreign soil as we invite you to experience an energetic, culturally magnificent South American nation at the Embassy of Peru.  Through the food, drink, live performances, diplomats and other cultural aspects of the evening, we'll experience the rich customs of the multiple regions of Peru.

FEATURING:

1) Diplomatic Greeting 
Meet and hear from the Peruvian diplomats from the embassy and talk with several diplomatic staff, who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.  At this point, we have invited the new ambassador from Peru to attend and we are optimistic he will be joining us as well.

2) Live Peruvian Music and Dance Performance
Peruvian Music is a fusion of sounds and styles drawing on Peru's Andean, Spanish, and African roots. Tonight, we will marvel at the unique native Peruvian performances reflecting ancient and modern Peruvian life!

3) Peruvian Drinks
Enjoy a variety of Peruvian wines, beers and non-alcoholic drinks commonly found in Peru.

4) Peruvian Food
Enjoy a full buffet of native Peruvian food including:

Peruvian empanadas: traditional baked beef empanadas with an egg wash
Lomo Saltado - Stir-fried steak and vegetables, served with rice and French fries (on the side
Aji de Gallina - Shredded chicken served in the classic aji amarillo sauce
Rice - Accompanies both the lomo saltado and the aji de gallina
Accompanies the lomo saltado
Peruvian Sautéed vegetables - Seasonal sautéed vegetables
Dulce de Leche Churros: Churros stuffed with dulce de leche, served with a chocolate dipping sauce

We are also adding a Taste of Pisco Sour – the Peruvian National Drink.

Marvel at the special painting, figurines and architecture of this special embassy.  History and culture fill the walls that will make you feel as if you were touring a museum in Lima itself. 

6) Film:
 A special film highlighting the beauty and culture of Peru will be on continuous play throughout the event
